Rusting Regen Trailer Planter
Two years ago in my first true regen art act, I planted salvaged Mexican Sage, along with Gooseberries, succulents, and a native ceanothus both around and inside a rusting trailer my neighbors had long ago discarded down the hill abutting my property. I watered most every day, filled the trailer with soil from my own slope, and even one day fell into a patch of poison oak while cutting back poisonous hemlocks nearby. Wedged so deep into the green waste—and pitched at 45 degrees--it took me about a half hour to manage to extricate myself and get out. But I had poison oak rashes for the next two weeks. What human intrusions can we remove? What others can we transform with the gift of natural bloom and beauty?
